Master the art of Shaken Coffee with step-by-step instructions and expert tips.

Hey there! We're back to exploring the wonderful ways of consuming coffee in Italy. Today's drink isn't usually something you'd have for breakfast, but it's a great alternative to the classic espresso when the weather is hot and sunny - it's called shaken coffee!

HOW IS IT PREPARED?

Ingredients: coffee, ice, liquid brown sugar - it's not an ingredient, but for this recipe you need a shaker (those containers the barmen use to make your cocktails) and a Martini cup.

  • Before making coffee, put the Martini cup in the freezer to cool it down.

  • Fill the shaker with a dozen ice cubes and add liquid sugar, the right dose for one person corresponds to a teaspoon for coffee (if you like it sweeter obviously you can put more but... watch out for diabetes though! ).

  • Make an espresso (make sure you choose a good coffee for this recipe! ).

  • Pour the coffee into the shaker and shake it vigorously.

  • Place the strainer (that kind of drink filter that is usually sold with shakers) on the Martini cup. As an alternative to the strainer, you can use a spoon to block the ice inside the shaker.

  • Pour the contents of the shaker into the Martini cup and enjoy the result!
